KAMK.GG

While the purpose of this assignment is to reflect upon the concepts and notions which were absorbed during the class, this specific posting, will showcase my experience as well as the receiving which I encountered during my talk about KAMK.GG.

"Dear Diary..."

KAMK.GG Is a student owned organization that primarily aims to connect the Esports scene found in Kajaani, with the rest of the world. Previously known as KAJAK Esports, KAMK.GG has gone over ups and downs, leading us to this evident moment, with over 450 Followers on Twitter, as well as, 250 followers on Instagram, providing us with a consistent flow of impressions.

Essentially, KAMK.GG has developed their own unique competitive rosters, competing in numerous, vital, Esports titles, however, the range of responsibility does not end there, as under the KAMK.GG brand provides Esports Bootcamps, Venue rentals, League development and most importantly, Esports tournaments and events.

Now, despite the evident success of KAMK.GG in captivating the attention of a rather, stable and concrete base of consumers, the main issue which remains unsolved, is the future of
the KAMK Esports Club branding; a sub-brand, in direct connection to KAMK.GG, that handles locally oriented events as well as local ecosystem development.

Throughout my talk during the Strategic Marketing Management course, I requested the assistance of my fellow students in order to come up with ideas, as to how we can include the Finnish community, and attract their attention in an efficient manner.

Results:

  • Change of name: Going over the suggestions, the name of KAMK Esports Club definitely radiates a degree of exclusivity, as such, the title of the event on its own, is enough to drive away a valuable portion of the Finnish community which we wish to attract.

  • Direction of KEC: During my talk, I was asked whether we wish to support the local Esports ecosystem, or, wish to include every single individual, regardless of the degree, within the Friday clubs. That question on its own, indicated that there was no clear direction to begin with. KEC wishes to do both, but it is unfortunately not possible to focus our endeavors on Esports education, essentially maintaining the evident degree of exclusivity while also promising an event tailored for every single person.
  • In addition to the apparent need for a clear and definitive direction of KEC, further suggestions were provided, stating that KEC could act as a direct information line, informing elementary schools of the study possibilities at KAMK, and indicating the evident future possibilities for business opportunities and success, within this newly developed industry.

  • All Week Club: In addition to the suggestions above, a rather simplistic, yet, effective suggestion, is the transfer of the event to either a different day of the week, or, expansion of availability for more than one day, enabling those with a heavy schedule to participate in accordance to their unique timetable.
